School Badge

The badge of Laerskool Derdepoort is rich in meaning and tradition.

The badge is designed in the shape of a shield, which represents protection, strength, and pride. Around the shield are gold and blue colours. Gold often stands for excellence, achievement, and warmth, while blue represents loyalty, trust, and dedication.

At the top of the badge is the name “Laerskool Derdepoort”, proudly showing the identity of the school.

In the centre of the shield is a flower stem with three hanging flowers or bells. These symbols can represent growth, unity, and learners developing together under the guidance of the school. Flowers are often linked to new life, learning, and reaching one’s potential.

Across the middle is the motto “TRAP VAS”, which means “Stand Firm” or “Stay Strong.” This encourages learners to persevere, remain determined, and face challenges with courage.

At the bottom of the badge is the phrase “BEUR VORENTOE”, meaning “Strive Forward” or “Push Ahead.” This inspires learners to always move forward, work hard, and aim for success in life.

Overall, the badge symbolises a school that values strength, perseverance, growth, unity, and striving towards a bright future.
